Regular Season Round 8: Hogsbo - Mark 79-49

Bottom-ranked Mark is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to fifth ranked Hogsbo (3-3) 79-49. The game was mostly controlled by Hogsbo. Mark was better in fourth quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Mark to just 6 points in second quarter. Hogsbo dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Mark's 20 and made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Hogsbo forced 24 Mark turnovers and outrebounded them 57-41 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American power forward Alexis Hyder (180-94, college: LSU) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international forward Hanna Johansson (185-89, college: Alaska-Anch.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Four Hogsbo players scored in double figures. Forward Emilia Axelsson (183-99) produced 14 points and forward Precious Johnson (191-0) added 4 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hogsbo have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Hogsbo maintains fifth position with 3-3 record. Mark at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Hogsbo's next round opponent will be higher ranked Telge (#4) on the road and it may be quite challenging game. Mark will play against Uppsala (#10) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
