Regular Season Round 5: Rostov - Young Angels 79-71

The game had a very big importance for fourth-ranked Russian BC Rostov as it allowed them to take a leadership position. BC Rostov defeated 8th ranked Slovakian Young Angels at home 79-71. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-71. Power forward Alexandra Kirina (190-96) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Power forward Anna Zaytseva (183-99) contributed with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four BC Rostov players scored in double figures. BC Rostov's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Denisa Blanarova (186-97) answered with 21 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Samantha Logic (175-92, college: Iowa, agency: LBM Management) added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Young Angels. BC Rostov have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Newly promoted Young Angels dropped to the fifth place with two games lost.
