Regular Season Round 11: Naron - Rosalia 81-62

Rather predictable result when tenth ranked Naron (3-5) outscored at home 12th ranked Rosalia (1-7) 81-62 on Saturday. Naron dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Rosalia's 34. They outrebounded Rosalia 42-17 including a 29-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Michael Scarlett (193-95, college: Claremont-Mudd) who scored 22 points and 4 assists. Guard Pablo Lopez-Pizarro (185-97) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Worth to mention Scarlett played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Four Naron players scored in double figures. Naron's coach Jesus Varela used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Swingman Nilo Barreiro (192-95) produced 21 points and 4 steals and power forward Pablo Posse (202-89) added 18 points respectively for the guests. Naron moved-up to ninth place in Group A-B, which they share with Betanzos. Rosalia lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with seven games lost. Naron will face Agustinos-Leclerc (#14) in Leon in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rosalia will play at home against Betanzos and hope to win that game.
