Regular Season Round 12: Tokyo Excel. - Gifu Swoops 89-66

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Tokyo Excel. (15-1) crushed at home 6th ranked Gifu Swoops (4-12) 89-66 on Saturday. Tokyo Excel. looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for American center Ryan Stephan (208-94, college: Colorado Mesa) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds. The other American import forward Jordan Faison (201-94, college: Cal Poly Pomona) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Tokyo Excel. players scored in double figures. Canadian center Michael Allison (206-90, college: Maine) replied with 18 points and 8 rebounds and American Bingo Merriex (206-80, college: TCU) added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Gifu Swoops. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tokyo Excel. have an impressive 15-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Koshigaya A. Gifu Swoops lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team keep the sixth place with 12 games lost. Tokyo Excel. will face again Gifu Swoops (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite.
