There was a minor upset in Santa Cruz de Ten. where second-ranked Alcobendas (8-3) was edged by fifth ranked Tenerife Naut. (8-3) 72-71 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was power forward Samuel Rodriguez (202-97) who scored 22 points. Senegalese power forward Serigne Niang (202-88) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Center Pablo Rodrigo (204-86) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds and power forward Roberto Morentin (204-81, college: Cent.Florida) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Alcobendas players scored in double figures. Tenerife Naut. have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to third place in Group B, which they share with defeated Alcobendas. Tenerife Naut. will face Quintanar (#6) on the road in the next round.
