Regular Season Round 11: Gijon Basket - Chantada 81-84

An interesting game where seventh ranked Chantada (5-3) edged by three points 8th ranked Gijon Basket (4-4) 84-81 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gijon Basket. It was a great evening for point guard Adria Baiget (190-89) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Daniel Manchon (193-98) helped adding 15 points and 7 rebounds. Canadian forward Ryan Ejim (201-93, college: Carleton) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds and Canadian-Nigerian Kenny Ejim (198-94, college: Humber) scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. Five Gijon Basket players scored in double figures. Chantada moved-up to sixth place in Group A-B, which they share with Estudiantes L. Gijon Basket at the other side keeps the eighth position with four games lost. Chantada will meet at home league's second-placed Leon in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gijon Basket will play against PBB (#5) in Porrino and hope to secure a win.
