Regular Season Round 7: Pyrinto - HNMKY 88-90

The most exciting game of round 7 in the U19 League took place in Tampere. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of much higher ranked Pyrinto (5-3) to fifth ranked HNMKY (4-3) 90-88 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 13 points after three quarters before their 30-15 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for HNMKY especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Iiro Tuomi (198-2) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Max Besselink (197-2) contributed with 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Aatu Pollanen (194-0) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Jasper Koskinen (183-1) added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Pyrinto. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. HNMKY have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with KTP. Pyrinto at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. HNMKY's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Helsinki MuKi.
