Regular Season Round 14: Nova Ves - Lucenec 89-65

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Lucenec (1-11) was crushed on the road by seventh ranked Nova Ves (4-7) 89-65. American guard Eric Nottage (188-94, college: FIU, agency: Court Side) orchestrated the victory with a triple-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). The former international forward Viktor Juricek (211-93, college: Texas A&M-CC) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Nottage is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Nova Ves' coach Giorgos Bitzanis felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Duke Shelton (208-95, college: Tampa) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Johnny Griffin (196-95, college: Loyola, LA) added 13 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Lucenec. Nova Ves maintains seventh position with 4-7 record. Lucenec lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 11 games lost. Nova Ves will play against higher ranked Rieker KN (#6) in Komarno in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Lucenec will play at home against Zilina to get more than just one victory in their record.
