Regular Season Round 9: TS Ostrovia - CCC Polkowice 43-81

EBLK top team - CCC Polkowice (8-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed thirteenth ranked TS Ostrovia (0-9) in Ostrow Wlkp. 81-43. CCC Polkowice made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game, while TS Ostrovia only scored three points from the stripe. CCC Polkowice forced 22 TS Ostrovia turnovers and outrebounded them 35-20 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. British-Nigerian forward Temi Fagbenle (193-92, college: USC) nailed 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and British Johannah Leedham-Warner (180-87, college: Franklin Pierce) accounted for 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four CCC Polkowice players scored in double figures. American guard Jenna Burdette (171, college: Dayton) came up with 11 points and Katarzyna Motyl (173-87) added 10 points respectively for TS Ostrovia in the defeat. TS Ostrovia's coach Miroslaw Trzesniewski gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for CCC Polkowice. Defending champion maintains first place with 8-0 record. TS Ostrovia lost their ninth game in a row. They still close the standings with nine games lost. CCC Polkowice will meet at home AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. TS Ostrovia will play against Energa Torun (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
