Regular Season Round 11: Asker - Hoybraten 40-49

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th placed Asker (5-3) lost to fifth ranked Hoybraten (3-6) in Rykkinn 40-49. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Asker won fourth quarter 13-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hoybraten dominated on the defensive end, holding Asker to just 7 points in first quarter. They held Asker to an opponent 23.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 29.1 percent accuracy of the winners. Hoybraten forced 28 Asker turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. It was a great evening for forward Sigrid Davidsen (185-95) who led her team to a victory scoring 9 points, 19 rebounds and 6 blocks. Kosovan guard Flaka Kelmendi (165-98) helped adding 14 points and 7 rebounds. International forward Ingrid Selvik (178-92) responded with 9 points and 13 rebounds and power forward Kari Kyrkjebo (182-1) scored 8 points and 11 rebounds. Despite that victory Hoybraten went down to sixth position due to points difference, which they share with Bergen. Asker at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost. Hoybraten will play against league's second-placed Ulriken in Bergen in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Asker will have a break next round.
