Regular Season Round 8: Empoli - Torino 60-75

Bottom-ranked Torino managed to get a second victory, breaking the six-game losing streak on Sunday night. This time they won against eleventh-ranked Empoli 75-60. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 15-point difference suggests that Torino is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. Worth to mention a great performance of Polish swingman Monika Jasnowska (182-92) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and center Valeria Trucco (190-99) who added 11 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Torino players scored in double figures. Lithuanian forward Gabriele Narviciute (190-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Nadia Calamai (172-86) scored 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Torino (2-6) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Vigarano. Newly promoted Empoli dropped to the bottom position with seven games lost. They share it with Battipaglia. Torino will meet at home higher ranked Ragusa (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Empoli will play against Familia Schio (#3) and hope to win that game.
