An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Stara Zagora. Second ranked Bulgarian Beroe faced one of their biggest challengers Slovenian Celje. Host Beroe (6-1) defeated guests from Celje (4-2) 79-74. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Celje. Celje was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 22-14 charge of Beroe, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was Montenegrin center Ana Pocek (190-93, agency: ProDep Management) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists. Montenegrin guard Snezana Aleksic (173-89, agency: ProDep Management) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists. Guard Zala Friskovec (179-99) produced 22 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals and American forward Rangie Bessard (185-96, college: Wichita St.) added 23 points respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Beroe have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 6-1 record having just one point less than leader Crvena Zvezda. Defending Slovenian champion Celje keeps the third place with two games lost. Beroe will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Celje will play at home against Buducnost and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
