Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Cazorla and 5th ranked Almeria had identical 4-4 record. But Almeria was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Cazorla 85-80 on Sunday night. Cazorla forced 19 Almeria turnovers. The best player for the winners was American forward Dante Thompson (201, college: Goldey-Beacom) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Point guard David Rubio (185-94) chipped in 23 points. Forward Jesus Moral (-92) produced 18 points and 6 rebounds and forward Cristian Ramon (197-92) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cazorla (5-4) moved-up to third place in Group D-A, which they share with Multiopticas Baza. Loser Almeria dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. Cazorla will face Novaschool (#9) in Malaga in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Almeria will play at home against the league's leader Marbella and hope to win that game.
