Regular Season Round 10: Crema - Padova 64-97

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Crema (3-7) was crushed at home by seventh ranked Padova (6-4) 97-64 on Sunday. Padova made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Padova outrebounded Crema 39-24 including a 30-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Padova especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Point guard Andrea Piazza (189-89) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Swingman Michele Ferrari (195-86) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Padova's coach Daniele Rubini felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Luca Montanari (181-92) produced 12 points and 8 assists and naturalized San Marino power forward Igor Biordi (203-96) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Five Padova and four Crema players scored in double figures. Padova have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place in B, which they share with San Vendemiano and Urania Milano. Crema lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with seven games lost. Padova will face San Vendemiano (#6) at home in the next round. Crema will play against Olginate (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
