Regular Season Round 13: Toyoda Gosei - Aisin AW 83-73

Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Aichi: Toyoda Gosei (#7) and Aisin AW (#9). Toyoda Gosei (3-1) won against visiting Aisin AW (1-3) 83-73. They outrebounded Aisin AW 47-27 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. American Patrick Simon (203-92, college: Seattle Pacific) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. American-Irish Brian Voelkel (196-92, college: Vermont) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 21 rebounds and 7 assists. Toyoda Gosei's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Yuki Ishihara (180-91) produced 34 points (!!!) and American forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Toyoda Gosei maintains seventh place with 3-1 record. Loser Aisin AW keeps the ninth position with three games lost. Toyoda Gosei will meet league's leader Koshigaya A. in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Aisin AW will play against Kagoshima (#5) in Renova and hope to win that game.
