The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Gomel-Sozh's (2-6) road loss to sixth ranked Gorizont II (2-6) 58-81. The game was mostly controlled by Gorizont II. Gomel-Sozh was better in second period 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gorizont II dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Gomel-Sozh's 18. Gorizont II forced 22 Gomel-Sozh turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a very good performance for center Lyubov Stepanova (165-99) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Maria Anufrienko (172-2) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five Gorizont II players scored in double figures. Gorizont II's coach Lidziya Matsal felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Yulia Haponova (185-94) answered with 19 points and 9 rebounds and forward Anna Hatskevich (180-92) added 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Gomel-Sozh. Gorizont II maintains sixth place with 2-6 record, which they share with defeated Gomel-Sozh. Gomel-Sozh lost their fourth game in a row. Gorizont II's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Minsk RGUOR.
