Rather predictable result when fourth ranked San Miniato (8-2) beat on the road 8th ranked Vigevano (5-5) 85-80 on Sunday. Strangely Vigevano outrebounded San Miniato 39-22 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Point guard Andrea Mazzucchelli (189-94, agency: Octagon Europe) fired 19 points and 5 assists for the winners. Point guard Simone Lasagni (188-94) chipped in 18 points and 6 assists. Daniele-Mario Benzoni (195-80) produced 21 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized Argentinian forward Duilio Birindelli (200-84) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. San Miniato maintains fourth position in B with 8-2 record. Newly promoted Vigevano keeps the eighth place with five games lost. San Miniato will face Montecatiniterme (#7) at home in the next round. Vigevano will play against the league's leader Fiorentina in Firenze and hope to win that game.
