Regular Season Round 7: Hainaut - Bourges 50-70

The game in Saint-Amand supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Bourges (5-1) played at the court of 7th ranked Hainaut (3-3). Bourges did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 70-50 on Sunday. Bourges dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Hainaut's 32. It was an exceptional evening for Canadian forward Katherine Plouffe (190-92, college: Marquette) who led the winners and scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Canadian power forward Nayo Raincock-Ekunwe (188-91, college: Simon Fraser) accounted for 15 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winning side. Four Bourges players scored in double figures. Bourges' coach Olivier Lafargue used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. DR Congolese center Pauline Akonga-Nsimbo (188-82, agency: LBM Management) came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and Spanish guard Laura Garcia (176-81, agency: ProDep Management) added 14 points respectively for Hainaut in the defeat. Bourges have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Lattes Montp. and Lyon. Hainaut lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Bourges will meet at home Basket Landes (#4) in the next round. Hainaut will play against the league's leader Lattes Montpellier and hope to secure a win.
