Regular Season Round 8: DCU Mercy - Glanmire 83-63

The game between Top Four teams took place in Dublin. Second ranked host DCU Mercy (5-2) smashed one of their biggest challengers Glanmire (5-2) 83-63. DCU Mercy dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Glanmire's 26. They brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. The winners were led by American forward Samantha Hyslip (183, college: Stonehill) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and the former international guard Sarah Woods (174-88) supported her with 17 points. DCU Mercy's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 13 points and 7 rebounds by the former international forward Casey Grace (182-92, college: Fairfield) did not help to save the game for Glanmire. International point guard Aine McKenna (165-89) added 12 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. DCU Mercy have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 5-2 record having just two points less than leader Liffey Celtics, which they share with defeated Glanmire. DCU Mercy will play against Fr.Mathews (#4) in Cork in the next round. Glanmire will play at home against 11890 Killester and hopes to get back on the winning track.
