Regular Season Round 6: Raanana - Ramat Hasharon 72-76

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked Maccabi Raanana (2-4) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Ramat Hasharon (2-4) 76-72. Ramat Hasharon outrebounded Maccabi Raanana 43-23 including a 38-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Linnae Harper (173-95, college: Ohio St.) notched 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and the other American import guard Sydney Wiese (185-95, college: Oregon St., agency: LBM Management) supported her with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Four Ramat Hasharon players scored in double figures. Even 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds by American guard Bria Goss (178-92, college: Kentucky) did not help to save the game for Maccabi Raanana. Swingman Lior Garzon (185-1) added 16 points and 6 rebounds. Ramat Hasharon moved-up to seventh place, which they share with H.R. Le-Zion and Maccabi Raanana. Ramat Hasharon will play against higher ranked Hap.Petah Tikva (#3) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Maccabi Raanana will play against the league's leader Elitzur Holon (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
