We should mention about the upset which took place in Chengdu, where 9th ranked Hebei (9-8) was outleveled in a road game by twelfth ranked Blue Whales (7-10) 80-51. Blue Whales had a 29-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Hebei's players. Belarusian center Yelena Leuchanka (196-83, college: W.Virginia) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points, 21 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Jingwei Dong supported her with 23 points. Blue Whales' coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 18 points and 17 rebounds by American forward Jessica Breland (190-88, college: N.Carolina) did not help to save the game for Hebei. Taiwanese Ping-Jen Huang (178-89) added 17 points and 5 rebounds. Blue Whales maintains twelfth position with 7-10 record. Newly promoted Hebei dropped to the eighth place with eight games lost. Blue Whales' next round opponent will be higher ranked Henan Phoenix (#10) in Jiyuan and it may be quite challenging game.
