Regular Season Round 11: Borea - Lipjani 75-77

The most exciting game of round 11 in the Superliga took place in Peja. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 7th ranked Borea (3-7) to eighth ranked Lipjani (1-9) 77-75 on Wednesday evening. Strangely Borea outrebounded Lipjani 55-32 including a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Point guard Musab Malaj (185-96) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points and 9 rebounds. American forward Stacey Lambert (203, college: Cameron) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Albanian Beqe Kovaci (196-93) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and American forward Patrick Wrencher (198-95, college: St.Francis, PA) added 14 points and 17 rebounds in the effort for Borea. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Lipjani maintains eighth place with 1-9 record. Borea at the other side keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Lipjani are looking forward to face higher ranked Bashkimi (#4) in Prizren in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Borea will play on the road against Trepca in Mitrovice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
