Regular Season Round 12: Pau-Lacq-Orthez - Nanterre 64-61

A very interesting game took place in Pau. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 14th ranked Nanterre (5-8) to eighth ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (7-6) 64-61 on Wednesday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Pau-Lacq-Orthez forced 21 Nanterre turnovers. 27 personal fouls committed by Nanterre helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was power forward Thibault Daval-Braquet (210-97) who scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Yohan Choupas (193-0) chipped in 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Pau-Lacq-Orthez's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Arson Mendy (203-98) who recorded 16 points and 6 rebounds and guard Aboubakar Jaiteh (195-98) added 6 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Pau-Lacq-Orthez have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Monaco. Nanterre lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with eight games lost. Pau-Lacq-Orthez's next round opponent will be Le Mans (#14) at home and are hoping to win another game. Nanterre will play against the league's leader Cholet where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
