Very predictable result in Nanjing where thirteenth ranked Jiangsu Dragons (7-9) defeated 18th ranked Blue Whales (3-13) 112-107. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Jiangsu Dragons players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. 36 personal fouls committed by Blue Whales helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Donald Sloan (190-88, college: Texas A&M) orchestrated the victory by scoring 31 points and 8 rebounds. Serbian center Miroslav Raduljica (213-88) contributed with 24 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Jiangsu Dragons' coach Mehmed Becirovic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American Jamaal Franklin (196-91, college: San Diego St., agency: Slash Sports) answered with a triple-double by scoring 47 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 10 assists and the other American import power forward Jason Thompson (211-86, college: Rider) added 12 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Blue Whales. Five Jiangsu Dragons and four Blue Whales players scored in double figures. Jiangsu Dragons moved-up to twelfth place. Blue Whales lost their tenth game in a row. They keep the eighteenth position with 13 games lost. Jiangsu Dragons' next round opponent will be higher ranked Flying Leopards (#3) in Yingkou and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Blue Whales will play on the road against Monkey Kings (#15) in Jiangsu and hope to win that game.
