Regular Season Round 17: Nanjing TX MK - Liaoning FL 99-134
Date: December 7, 2018
No shocking result in a game in Jiangsu where third ranked Flying Leopards (12-4) outleveled 14th ranked Monkey Kings (5-11) 134-99. Flying Leopards players were unselfish on offense dishing 35 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Monkey Kings' players. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. American forward Brandon Bass (203-85, college: LSU, agency: IPZ) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international Ailun Guo (192-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 assists for the winners. Five Flying Leopards players scored in double figures. American guard Joseph Young (188-92, college: Oregon) answered with 48 points (!!!) and 6 assists and the other American import center Isaiah Austin (216-93, college: Baylor, agency: Slash Sports) added 18 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Monkey Kings. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Flying Leopards. Defending champion maintains third place with 12-4 record having four points less than leader Guangdong ST, which they share with Beijing Ducks. Monkey Kings at the other side keep the fourteenth position with 11 games lost. Flying Leopards' next round opponent will be Jiangsu Dragons (#12) in Nanjing and are hoping to win another game. Monkey Kings will play at home against Blue Whales and hope to win that game.
