Regular Season Round 13: La Charite - Angers 61-89

Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Etoile Angers (8-4) smashed on the road 7th ranked La Charite (7-6) 89-61 on Friday. They outrebounded La Charite 41-23 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Etoile Angers looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by La Charite's players. American center Kyle Tresnak (209-92, college: Weber St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and Erwan Andre (201-89) chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds. Etoile Angers' coach Laurent Buffard felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American point guard Austen Rowland (186-81, college: Lehigh) responded with 19 points and 4 steals and Moussa Camara (196-87, college: Binghamton, agency: HMS) scored 14 points (made all of his seven free throws). The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Etoile Angers. They moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with Le Havre. Loser La Charite dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Etoile Angers will face La Rochelle (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. La Charite will play against Lourdes-Tarbes and hope to win that game.
