Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Rio de Janeiro: Flamengo (#2) and Botafogo F.R. (#6). Flamengo (9-3) smashed visiting Botafogo F.R. (6-6) by 29 points 102-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Botafogo F.R.. Flamengo made 21-of-25 charity shots (84.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Botafogo F.R. 33-20 including 22 on the defensive glass. Flamengo players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Botafogo F.R.'s players. Botafogo F.R. was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for the former international Marquinhos Vieira (207-84) who led his team to a victory with 35 points (!!!)
