The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Tokyo Excel. as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Tokyo Excel. defeated 3rd ranked Tokyo Cinq R. at home 71-66. Tokyo Excel. looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Jordan Faison (201-94, college: Cal Poly Pomona) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. The other American import center Ryan Stephan (208-94, college: Colorado Mesa) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. Four Tokyo Excel. players scored in double figures. Tokyo Excel.'s coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Senegalese Bira Seck (204-90, college: Idaho, agency: Interperformances) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and American center Joe Wolfinger (216-85, college: Citadel) added 16 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the guests. Tokyo Excel. (19-1) have an impressive 19-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Tokyo Cinq R. lost fourth consecutive game.
