Regular Season Round 17: Shanxi Z. - Xinjiang FT 80-107

Everything went according to plan in Taiyuan where seventh ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (11-5) outscored 16th ranked Brave Dragons (4-12) 107-80. Xinjiang Flying Tige dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Brave Dragons' 42. They outrebounded Brave Dragons 55-43 including a 43-31 advantage in defensive rebounds. Xinjiang Flying Tige players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American-Bulgarian point guard Darius Adams (188-89, college: Indianapolis, agency: IPZ) orchestrated the victory by scoring 38 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 7 assists. International Abudushalamu Abudurexiti (203-96) contributed with 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American Shabazz Muhammad (198-92, college: UCLA) answered with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and the other American import point guard Bobby Brown (188-84, college: CS Fullerton) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) in the effort for Brave Dragons. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Xinjiang Flying Tige. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Shanghai S. and Shenzhen L. Brave Dragons lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the sixteenth position with 12 games lost. Xinjiang Flying Tige's next round opponent will be Sturgeons (#8) in Jinjiang. Brave Dragons will play at home against Long-Lions (#10) and hope to win that game.
