Regular Season Round 12: Castello - Forca Lleida 70-66

An interesting game took place in Castellon where higher ranked Lleida Basquet (8-4) was upset on the court of fourteenth ranked Castello (4-8) 70-66. Castello had a 27-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for Javier Lucas (207-86) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Naturalized Lithuanian forward Tautvydas Sabonis (203-92) contributed with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Point guard Adrian Chapela (192-94) replied with 14 points and American guard Robert Turner (190-93, college: Texas Tech, agency: Interperformances) added 13 points in the effort for Lleida Basquet. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Castello maintains fourteenth position with 4-8 record, which they share with Caceres. Lleida Basquet lost third consecutive game. Lleida Basquet at the other side dropped to the third place with four games lost. Castello's next round opponent will be higher ranked Carramimbre (#11) in Valladolid and it may be quite challenging game. Lleida Basquet will play on the road against Araberri (#13) in Vitoria-Gasteiz and hope to win that game.
