Regular Season Round 9: Visby - Alvik Basket 51-55

Damligan top team - Alvik Basket (8-0) added another victory to their record on Friday. This time they beat eleventh ranked Visby Ladies (0-7) 55-51. The guests trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 19-11 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The former international forward Elin Ljunggren (185-96) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and international forward Paula Juhlin (184-91) chipped in 6 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Alvik Basket's coach Fotios Ioannidis used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American guard Branndais Agee (180-94, college: Michigan St.) with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Zakiya Saunders (175-95, college: Cent.Florida) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Alvik Basket have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-0 record. Visby Ladies at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. They share the position with Mark and Uppsala. Alvik Basket are looking forward to face Wetterbygden (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
