Regular Season Round 9: Perth - Bendigo 86-68

WNBL top team - Perth Lynx (9-3) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they beat fifth ranked Bendigo Spirit (6-8) 86-68. Perth Lynx dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Bendigo Spirit's 26 and made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Asia Taylor (188-91, college: Louisville, agency: LBM Management) who scored 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Brittany McPhee (183-96, college: Stanford) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Perth Lynx players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Nadeen Payne (188-93, agency: LBM Management) who recorded 27 points and guard Abigail Wehrung (177-95) added 16 points and 5 assists respectively. Bendigo Spirit's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Perth Lynx maintains first place with 9-3 record. Bendigo Spirit lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with eight games lost. Perth Lynx will meet Canberra Capitals (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Bendigo Spirit will play against Dandenong Rangers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
