Regular Season Round 12: Miedzychod - Pelplin 74-63

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Pelplin (9-2) against fourth ranked Miedzychod (8-3) on Saturday night. Visiting Pelplin was defeated by Miedzychod in Miedzychod 74-63. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pelplin. Miedzychod forced 19 Pelplin turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Pelplin's players. Pelplin was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Jakub Nowak (188-89) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and Mikolaj Smarzy (191-99) who added 16 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international swingman Bartosz Sarzalo (197-83) with 15 points and 8 rebounds and center Mateusz Itrich (201-97) scored 6 points and 13 rebounds. Four Pelplin players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Miedzychod have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position in Group A with 8-3 record. Pelplin at the other side keeps the second place with two games lost. They share the position with Notec Inowr.. Miedzychod will play against league's leader Politechnika Gd. in Gdansk in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Pelplin will play at home against AZS UMK Torun and hopes to get back on the winning track.
