There was a small surprise when fifth ranked San-en NeoPhoenix (9-12) beat on the road 5th ranked Shiga L-Stars (4-17) 69-60 on Saturday. American forward Robert Dozier (206-85, college: Memphis) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. The other American import forward William McDonald (206-79, college: Grambling St.) contributed with 11 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four San-en NeoPhoenix players scored in double figures. American-Israeli center DOr Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds and Nigerian-American power forward Gani Lawal (206-88, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Octagon Europe) added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Shiga L-Stars. Shiga L-Stars' coach Shawn Dennis rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. San-en NeoPhoenix maintains fifth position with 9-12 record which they share with defeated Shiga L-Stars. Shiga L-Stars lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 17 games lost. San-en NeoPhoenix will have a break next round. Shiga L-Stars will play again at home against San-en NeoPhoenix (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
