The game between Top Four teams took place in Stykkisholmur. First ranked host Snaefell (9-3) defeated 3rd placed KR (9-3) 64-46. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of KR. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Snaefell led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held KR to an opponent 22.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 38.1 percent accuracy of the winners. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Kristen McCarthy (180-90, college: Temple) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. Polish swingman Angelika Kowalska (179-92) accounted for 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. American guard Kiana Johnson (171-93, college: Virginia Union) came up with 7 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals and Irish forward Orla OReilly (185-90) added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively for KR in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Snaefell. They maintain first place with 9-3 record, which they share with KR and Keflavik. Snaefell will play against Skallagrimur (#6) in Borganes in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. KR will play at home against Breidablik (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
