Regular Season Round 14: Kagoshima - Aisin AW 76-99

We should mention about the upset which took place in Renova, where higher ranked Kagoshima (7-13) was outleveled at home by ninth ranked Aisin AW (4-4) 99-76 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Kagoshima. Aisin AW dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Kagoshima's 36. They outrebounded Kagoshima 47-23 including a 29-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Aisin AW looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Kagoshima's players. The best player for the winners was American forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. Niyokwizera Yves chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Five Aisin AW players scored in double figures. American forward Shelton Boykin (198-92, college: Angelo St.) produced 28 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Atomu Yamada (179-98) added 13 points respectively for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aisin AW maintains ninth position with 4-4 record. Loser Kagoshima keeps the fifth place with 13 games lost. Aisin AW will have a break next round. Kagoshima will play again at home against Aisin AW (#9) and hope to win that game.
