No shocking result in a game in Boechout where third ranked Oxaco (8-2) smashed 5th ranked Gent Hawks (7-5) 75-56 on Saturday. Oxaco made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game, while Gent Hawks only scored nine points from the stripe. They outrebounded Gent Hawks 41-26 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Oxaco made 19 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Nick Celis (196-88) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Sam Van-Hoey (190-91) who added 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Oxaco players scored in double figures. Oxaco's coach Eddy Faus used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was forward Gregory De-Pooter (197-84) with 18 points and 7 rebounds and forward Joeri Vermoessen (200-93) scored 14 points. Oxaco have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 8-2 record having 2 victories less than leader Melsele. Gent Hawks at the other side keep the fifth place with five games lost.
