Regular Season Round 9: Evropi - Amyntas Dafnis 69-65

There was a surprise result in Pefkohori where twelfth ranked Evropi (4-5) defeated higher ranked Amyntas Dafnis (6-3) 69-65 on Saturday. Evropi made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was forward Danis Eleftheriadis (197-89) who scored 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Point guard Petros Velissariou (192-93) chipped in 14 points. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Leonidas Zoupas (185-82) who recorded 18 points and 7 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Andriano Topalis (190-94) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Evropi maintains twelfth place with 4-5 record. Loser Amyntas Dafnis dropped to the third position with three games lost. Evropi will face bottom-ranked Ethnikos (#16) in Pireus in the next round. Amyntas Dafnis will play at home against Charilaos TM (#14) and hope to win that game.
