Regular Season Round 9: Sibenik - Zabok 72-73

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Sibenik (3-6) was edged at home by sixth ranked KK Zabok (5-4) 73-72 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-17. But Sibenik won second period 19-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was forward Ivan Batur (201-91, agency: PEPI SPORT) who scored 29 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Antonio Crnjevic (202-94) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was international point guard Martin Junakovic (186-94, agency: PEPI SPORT) who recorded 15 points and 6 assists and point guard Domagoj Saric (193-99) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively. Four Sibenik players scored in double figures. KK Zabok have a solid series of four victories in a row. KK Zabok maintains sixth place with 5-4 record. Sibenik lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. KK Zabok will face higher ranked Split (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sibenik will play against Bosco (#12) and hope to win that game.
