Regular Season Round 18: Guangdong ST - Zhejiang Ch. 107-103

Undefeated leader Guandong Tigers delivered the seventeenth consecutive victory. This time they beat 11th ranked Golden Bulls (8-9) 107-103 in Dongguan. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Golden Bulls. Guandong Tigers players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. Golden Bulls were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was dominated by American players. It was a good game for swingman Sonny Weems (198-86, college: Arkansas) who led his team to a victory with 29 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Malcolm Delaney (191-89, college: Virginia Tech) contributed with a triple-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Guandong Tigers' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Guard Marcus Denmon (191-90, college: Missouri, agency: BeoBasket) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists (went 14 for 14 at the free throw line !!!) and forward Tyler Hansbrough (206-85, college: N.Carolina) added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Golden Bulls. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Guandong Tigers (17-0) have an impressive 16-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 17 victories in a row. Golden Bulls at the other side keep the eleventh place with nine games lost. Guandong Tigers will play against Monkey Kings (#14) in Jiangsu in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Golden Bulls will play on the road against Sharks in Shanghai and hope to get back on the winning track.
