The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tokyo: Tokyo Z (#3) and Tokyo HT (#6). Tokyo Z (10-11) won against visiting Tokyo HT (3-18) 83-74. They outrebounded Tokyo HT 35-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. Tokyo Z looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American center Nigel Spikes (208-89, college: Marshall) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Tatsuya Nishiyama (171-88) contributed with 17 points and 5 assists for the winners. Five Tokyo Z players scored in double figures. Tokyo Z's coach Satoru Furuta used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Cleanthony Early (203-91, college: Wichita St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Deangelo Kirkland (203-89, college: Columbus St., agency: Interperformances) added 7 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Tokyo HT. Tokyo Z maintains third position with 10-11 record having six points less than leader Cyberdyne IR. Tokyo HT lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth place with 18 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
