The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Real Murcia as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Silver. Real Murcia defeated 8th ranked Menorca at home 84-80. Real Murcia players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Connor Beranek (198-94, college: Nebraska-Kearney, agency: Duran International) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and center Sergio Mendiola (207-96) who added 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Real Murcia's coach Rafael Monclova allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was point guard Javier Hernandez (182-92) with 18 points and 8 assists and power forward Andreu Matali (204-81) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Five Real Murcia and four Menorca players scored in double figures. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Newly promoted Menorca keeps the eighth place with seven games lost. Menorca will play next round against Girona Basquet trying to get back on the winning streak. Real Murcia will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Albacete on the road.
