Important game to mention about took place in Patra. Seventh ranked Psychiko (5-3) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 13th ranked Apollon Patras (2-7) 65-64 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The best player for the winners was forward Nikolaos Papanikolaou (209-85) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Antonis Mantzaris (193-86) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Hungarian forward Rashad Bell (203-82, college: Boston U.) who recorded 14 points and 7 assists and swingman Giannis Molfetas (194-92) added 14 points respectively. Four Apollon Patras players scored in double figures. Apollon Patras' coach Nikos Vournas rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Psychiko. They moved-up to sixth place. Loser Apollon Patras keeps the thirteenth position with seven games lost. Psychiko will face Kastoria (#9) at home in the next round. Apollon Patras will play against Karditsas (#7) and hope to win that game.
