Bottom-ranked Tokyo Big Blue (0-8) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 74-66 loss to eighth ranked Iwate Big Bulls (5-15) in Tokyo. Iwate Big Bulls outrebounded Tokyo Big Blue 52-31 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. American center Marcus Cousin (211-86, college: Houston) notched a double-double by scoring 32 points and 21 rebounds to lead the effort and Bahamas center Gjio Bain (211-85, college: S.Mississippi) supported him with 6 points and 11 rebounds. Iwate Big Bulls' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 9 points and 13 rebounds by forward Bryan Simpson (197-84) did not help to save the game for Tokyo Big Blue. American guard Andre Murray (188-87, college: Portland St.) added 10 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Iwate Big Bulls moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Gifu Swoops. Tokyo Big Blue at the other side still closes the standings with eight games lost. Iwate Big Bulls will have a break next round. Tokyo Big Blue will play again at home against Iwate Big Bulls (#8) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
