Regular Season Round 10: Haga BG - Eskilstuna 80-86

Not a big story in a game in Norrkoping where 7th ranked Haga BG (2-5) was defeated by fourth ranked Eskilstuna (5-2) 86-80 on Saturday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-15. But Haga BG won second period 23-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Eskilstuna dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Haga BG's 34 and made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Haga BG 48-35 including 37 on the defensive glass. Haga BG was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Pontus Lennartsson (198-93) had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Hannes Widell (183-94) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side point guard Jacob Burke (171-2) responded with 29 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Ludvig Worge (-0) scored 9 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Eskilstuna moved-up to third place, which they share with BG Lulea. Haga BG lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with five games lost. Eskilstuna will face Orebro (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Haga BG will play against Bankeryd and hope to win that game.
