The game in Brest supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked COR-Borisfen (10-2) played at the court of 7th ranked Brest (4-7). COR-Borisfen smashed Brest 115-71 on Saturday. The game without a history. COR-Borisfen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 26-of-31 free shots (83.9 percent) during the game. COR-Borisfen forced 34 Brest turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. Brest was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American guard Brian Starr (190-96, college: Towson) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 4 assists. Center Aleksandr Kopachev (203-95) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Starr is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five COR-Borisfen players scored in double figures. Guard Anton Shchurko (188-97) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Dmitriy Solyshko (196-96) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Brest. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for COR-Borisfen. They maintain third place with 10-2 record having just two point less than leader Tsmoki-Minsk. Brest lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with seven games lost. COR-Borisfen will face GOCOR-Sozh (#8) in Gomel in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Brest will play on the road against the league's leader Tsmoki-Minsk and hope to win that game.
