Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked ALS Basket (5-8) was defeated on the road by second ranked Saint-Quentin (12-1) 90-76 on Saturday. Saint-Quentin looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by ALS Basket's players. American-Jamaican center Ryan Rhoomes (203-92, college: Fordham, agency: Duran International) stepped up and scored 24 points and 5 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and Mali forward Cheick Soumaoro (204-90) chipped in 12 points and 10 rebounds. Five Saint-Quentin players scored in double figures. At the losing side Turkish center Mutlu Demir (210-87) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and Congolese forward Charles Nkaloulou (199-94) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Saint-Quentin. They maintain second place in Group A with 12-1 record having just one point less than leader Challans. ALS Basket lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. Saint-Quentin will face Saint Vallier (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. ALS Basket will play against Sorgues BC (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
