Regular Season Round 9: GOCOR-Sozh - Grodno-93 55-123

Premier League top team - Grodno-93 (10-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed eighth ranked GOCOR-Sozh (2-8) in Gomel 123-55. The game without a history. Grodno-93 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 86 of its points in the paint compared to GOCOR-Sozh's 22 and made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Grodno-93 forced 22 GOCOR-Sozh turnovers and outrebounded them 47-27 including a 35-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by GOCOR-Sozh's players. Guard Ilya Sharipov (198-91) nailed 41 points (!!!) and 4 assists for the winning side and Ukrainian forward Ivan Kalyaev (200-87) accounted for 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Grodno-93 players scored in double figures. Guard Denis Yarets (188-89) came up with 26 points and swingman Evgeniy Ribkin (195-96) added 13 points respectively for GOCOR-Sozh in the defeat. Despite that victory Grodno-93 went down to second position due to points difference. GOCOR-Sozh lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth place with eight games lost. Grodno-93's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Grodno Prinemanye.
