Regular Season Round 8: Lattes Montp. - Hainaut 83-68

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Lattes Montpellier (6-2) beat at home 9th ranked Hainaut (3-5) 83-68. They outrebounded Hainaut 47-34 including 21 on the offensive glass. Lattes Montpellier players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The winners were led by international center Helena Ciak (197-89) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds and American guard Taylor Wurtz (183-90, college: Wisconsin) supported her with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Lattes Montpellier players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds by American forward Ashley Bruner (183-91, college: S.Carolina, agency: Two Points) did not help to save the game for Hainaut. Forward Jenny Fouasseau (179-92) added 15 points for the guests. Lattes Montpellier moved-up to second place, which they share with Bourges and Landes. Hainaut lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Lattes Montpellier will play against Basket Landes (#4) in Mont de Marsan in the next round. Hainaut will play on the road against Villeneuve D'Ascq and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
