No shocking result in a game when second ranked Baskonia (8-3) crushed 16th ranked Leche Rio Breogan (3-7) in Vitoria 100-78 on Sunday. The game without a history. Baskonia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 60.7 percent from the field. Baskonia shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 61.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Leche Rio Breogan was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Georgian Tornike Shengelia (206-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. International center Ilimane Diop (210-95) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. Serbian point guard Aleksandar Cvetkovic (188-93, agency: BeoBasket) answered with 21 points and 4 assists and Jamaican center Jerome Jordan (215-86, college: Tulsa) added 17 points in the effort for Leche Rio Breogan. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Baskonia have a solid series of three victories in a row. Despite that victory Baskonia went down to third position due to points difference, which they share with Unicaja. Leche Rio Breogan lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fifteenth place with seven games lost. Baskonia will face CB Canarias (#5) in Tenerife in the next round. Leche Rio Breogan will play at home against the league's second-placed Real Madrid (#2) and hope to win that game.
